AfroPari makes the registration easy enough, but it’s the verification (KYC process) that grants you full access and smooth withdrawals. As a punter in Ghana, you will want your account set to Ghana and currency GHS right from the first screen. You will also see that a bonus selection is required: Sports or Casino games. You can make your selection here or opt out and make the choice later on in My Account.
Step 1: Open your account
Then, in the Register window, select one of three ways of doing this:
- By email
Put in your email address and create a good, strong password, confirm Ghana/GHS and select your bonus if you like and submit. If you receive a confirmation by way of email, click the link and verify accordingly. - By phone (SMS)
Fill in your +233 number, press Send SMS and enter the code you receive. Confirm Ghana/GHS, pick a bonus (or not) and complete the process. - One click
The easiest and quickest way. Confirm Gahna/GHS, click on the Register tab and you will be given a temporary account which you will complete later. Note that you will still have to fill in personal details and pass KYC before being allowed to withdraw.
In whichever way you choose, remember the aim is the same : get the account opened and then immediately complete the profile information to avoid delay later on.
Step 2: Complete the profile
Go to My Account → Personal Profile and fill in the basics as they appear on your ID ; that is, full name, date of birth and resident address. Importance of consistency, because mismatches between the profile and documents are the main causes of delays in verification.
Step 3: Verification of identity (KYC)
AfroPari adheres to a comprehensive KYC policy to ensure that the platform is compliant and safe. You can expect the first check on identity, and depending on your activities, incidental re-checking. At least, you may be requested to upload:
- Government ID (Passport, Ghana card or driver’s licence), showing your name, date of birth and photograph.
- Proof of address (utility bill or bank statement in your name no more than three months old).
If any signals of risk emerge – large or frequent transactions, strange patterns, high-risk jurisdictions, third-party payment methods or PEP/sanctions hits, AfroPari may require further enhanced due diligence. This could entail a second ID, bank statements or a brief explanation of the source of funds. In some cases, the team could request notarised copies of documents or conduct extra checks (for example, screen databases or biometrics). The documents need to be clear, valid and untampered with.
Reason for such requirements (AML/CTF in practice)
AfroPari operates within a strict framework of anti-money laundering (AML) and countering terrorist financing (CTF). Simply, it should be certain that no criminal funds are entering the system, and such operations to show likely suspicion should be reported. This is why, when you are sign up, you agree to comply with the AML/CTF rules, to give information on it being requested, particularly questions about where the funds should come from, that of lawfully acquired funds. The company records the verification data, which it keeps secure, monitors accounts for unusual behaviour, and could verify client details by reference to terrorism and sanctions lists.
Practical tips to pass KYC first time
- Keep it simple – keep the same spelling of your name, in both ID and profile.
- Ensure that the address is clear on the proof.
- Photograph the documents in a good light, with all four corners appearing.
- Avoid scans of documents with cropping of key details.
If there is a change of address or payment method, inform the profile – AfroPari carries out ongoing monitoring, so that any significant change will invoke a quick re-check.
Data handling and security
The documents submitted are dealt with under data-protection laws. AfroPari states that it applies appropriate security in order to store and process KYC information and keeps records for the legally required period after closure or final transaction.
